Old Palace of John Whitgift School is part of a Christian foundation and is fully committed to equal opportunities in education. Learning is at the heart of our School and students are at the centre of all we do. We value the relationship we have with parents and recognise the role they play in their daughter’s learning.
We welcome applications from all backgrounds, social, religious and ethnic origins. Applications are welcomed from a variety of schools and faiths.
Old Palace of John Whitgift is an academically selective school and places are offered on the basis of merit related to performance in our assessment procedure. A reserve list will be held and all applicants on the list are considered to have qualified for entry to Old Palace should a vacancy occur.
The Limes (3 months to 4 years)
We welcome applications to our day nursery for all children from the age of three months.
Juniors
We admit girls into Reception in the September following their fourth birthday. Girls progress through the Foundation Stage into Key Stages 1 and 2. We admit girls into all year groups, if places are available, on the basis of performance in an age-related assessment.
Seniors
Internal Year 6 girls sit the same entrance papers as external applicants ie. transfer to the Seniors is not automatic, but parents would be informed should we have any concerns about a girl’s progress or suitability for the Seniors. We admit girls into all year groups, if places are available, on the basis of performance in an age-related assessment.
For entry to the Sixth Form, students are interviewed by staff teaching the subjects chosen for AS/A2 level. If successful, conditional places, subject to GCSE results, will be offered.
